Is OpenFoxy really free for life?
Supported local OpenFoxy use is intended to remain free for life when downloaded. Hardware, electricity, internet access, optional Cloud, and separately priced services are not included.
What does “uncensored” mean?
OpenFoxy aims to give users more control over local AI behavior than heavily restricted hosted assistants. It does not mean unlawful or abusive activity is permitted.
Is OpenFoxy completely private?
We deliberately do not make that absolute claim. Local AI is private by design and runs on your machine, while connected features may communicate with OpenFoxy services as needed.
Do advertisers receive my chats?
No. Advertisers do not receive your private conversation history.
Do I need OpenFoxy Cloud?
No. Cloud is optional. Local mode is the core free product.
Why would I use Cloud?
Cloud can help if your computer is not powerful enough, you want hosted performance, or you need remote access.
Will OpenFoxy choose the AI model for my computer?
Yes. The official app is designed to detect relevant hardware and automatically choose a compatible configuration.
Do I need to understand model files or GPU settings?
No. OpenFoxy is designed to hide that complexity from normal users.
Will Windows, Mac, and Linux be supported?
Windows launches first. macOS and Linux are planned after the Windows signed-release pipeline is complete.
Why does OpenFoxy show Sponsored placements?
Advertising helps fund the free local product. Sponsored placements are separate from AI answers and designed around current relevance.
Can I share or download chats?
Yes. Supported accounts can create read-only shared snapshots and export conversations.
Do I need to verify my email?
Yes. New accounts must verify their email address before activation.
